I farmaci derivati dalle piante sono diventati parte integrante del sistema sanitario in diverse regioni del mondo e oggi le piante sono considerate un valido agente contro le malattie causate dai microbi. Nel presente lavoro abbiamo effettuato uno screening fitochimico e antimicrobico della corteccia di Eucalyptus camadulensis. Lo screening fitochimico, l’analisi dei metalli pesanti e le attività antimicrobiche della corteccia di Eucalyptus camaldulensis sono stati effettuati presso il laboratorio PCSIR. Peshawar, Pakistan. L’indagine fitochimica ha rivelato la presenza di nove metaboliti. Per le attività antimicrobiche sono state selezionate due specie di batteri gram positivi (Enterococcus faecalis, Bacillus cereus), tre specie di batteri gram negativi (Shigella sonnei, Citrobacter freundii e Klebsiella pneumonia) e cinque specie di funghi (Aspergillus niger, Aspergillus flavus, Alternaria alternata, Penicillium notatum e Trichoderma harzianum). Questo libro è destinato ai ricercatori che lavorano sullo screening fitochimico e antimicrobico delle piante e alle aziende farmaceutiche.
