Le nanoparticelle derivate dalle basi di Schiff hanno un’ampia varietà di applicazioni. Queste particelle hanno proprietà antitumorali, catalitiche, antivirali, antibatteriche, additive stabilizzanti per vernici antivegetative e studi di fotocatalisi. L’importanza della fotocatalisi è stata notata per la disinfezione dell’acqua e la generazione di idrogeno per lo sviluppo sostenibile dell’industria moderna. Gli ossidi metallici sono esplorati come fotocatalisi pratica con grandi aspettative nel prossimo futuro. Questo libro si concentra sulla sintesi di basi di schiff da tereftaldeide e o-fenilendiammina, sulla sintesi di complessi metallici da questo ligando. Sintesi di nanoparticelle di ossido metallico da questi complessi. Sono stati condotti studi di fotocatalisi utilizzando ZnONPs e CuONPs come precursori. Dallo studio di fotocatalisi si è concluso che gli ZnONPs hanno una buona fotocatalisi grazie al loro elevato band gap. I CuONPs non hanno mostrato alcuna attività di fotocatalisi a causa del loro piccolo band gap.
