Aus Schiff-Basen abgeleitete Nanopartikel haben eine breite Palette von Anwendungen. Diese Partikel werden als Antitumormittel, Katalysator, antivirales und antibakterielles Mittel, als stabilisierender Zusatz für Antifouling-Farben und in Studien zur Photokatalyse eingesetzt. Die Bedeutung der Photokatalyse wurde für die Wasserreinigung, Desinfektion und Wasserstofferzeugung für die nachhaltige Entwicklung der modernen Industrie festgestellt. Die Metalloxide werden als praktische Photokatalysatoren erforscht, und es wird erwartet, dass sie in naher Zukunft zum Einsatz kommen. Dieses Buch konzentriert sich auf die Synthese von Schiff-Basen aus Terephthalaldehyd und o-Phenylendiamin, die Synthese von Metallkomplexen aus diesem Liganden. Synthese von Metalloxid-Nanopartikeln aus diesen Komplexen. Studien zur Photokatalyse wurden mit ZnONPs und CuONPs als Vorläufer durchgeführt. Aus der Photokatalysestudie wird geschlossen, dass ZnONPs aufgrund ihrer hohen Bandlücke eine gute Photokatalyse aufweisen. CuONPs konnten aufgrund ihrer kleinen Bandlücke keine Photokatalyse-Aktivitäten zeigen.
