Questo lavoro riguarda alcuni studi biosistematici su alcune specie della famiglia delle Lamiaceae (Labiatae) in Egitto. È stata effettuata una revisione tassonomica del genere Teucrium L. È stata inoltre studiata la distribuzione dei tricomi su diversi organi della pianta. Sono state studiate l’architettura fogliare, la diversità e la gamma di variazioni presenti tra un totale di 34 specie, incluse 8 sottospecie selezionate tra le specie appartenenti alle Lamiaceae in Egitto. Questo lavoro è il primo a utilizzare il marcatore RAPD per valutare la somiglianza genetica tra le quattro specie del genere Teucrium in Egitto. I risultati hanno rivelato la presenza di 5 specie di Teucrium in Egitto, incluse 2 sottospecie e 4 varietà.
