Die Globalisierungs- und Liberalisierungspolitik kommt den sozioökonomisch besser gestellten Menschen in der Gesellschaft zugute. Unter den gegenwärtigen hegemonialen Umständen wird allgemein anerkannt, dass der Bedarf an sozialer Entwicklung auf die marginalisierten Teile der Gesellschaft gerichtet werden muss. Eines der sichtbarsten und komplexesten Probleme sind die Straßenkinder, die zu den schwächeren Gruppen gehören und keine Stimme haben. Das vorliegende Buch ist das Ergebnis einer empirischen Studie, die im Rahmen einer Doktorarbeit über die Lebenssituation, Lebensprobleme und Lebenschancen dieser Kinder in der Stadt Gulbarga durchgeführt wurde. Das Buch enthält auch Vorschläge für mögliche Interventionen der Sozialarbeit, um das Problem der Straßenkinder zu verhindern und zu rehabilitieren.
