Drawing on years of research and lived experience, she blends personal storytelling, ancestral knowledge, and mental health expertise to offer practical tools for growth and healing. This book is a hand to hold, a moment of reflection, and a guide for seekers and healers - for anyone reclaiming their power and ready to step boldly into what can be. Life will hand you stones. It will also give you flowers. And in between? The lessons that will set you free.Alejandra Acuña is a mother, proud Chicana, speaker, therapist, and retired tenured professor of social work with a lifelong dedication to healing, resilience, and personal growth. With extensive experience in academia, research, and direct practice, she has worked in nonprofit community-based organizations, child protective services, children’s hospitals, county agencies, and public-school districts. She has taught at CSUN, UCLA, and CSULA, earning local and national awards for her commitment to student mentorship and education. Based in Mount Washington, Los Angeles, Dra. Acuña continues to support individuals and organizations in fostering well-being, leadership, and transformation. When she’s not writing, she’s traveling across Mexico, savoring naps and nonfiction books, practicing hot yoga, Pilates, or dance, and learning the art of cooking.
