I rapaci hanno un ampio areale di distribuzione e vivono in zone lontane dall’accesso umano. Era difficile stimarne la popolazione poiché erano distribuiti su un’area molto vasta. I nibbi (Milvus migrans) spesso si radunavano in grandi dormitori comuni durante la migrazione e nei luoghi in cui il cibo era abbondante e nelle colonie di riproduzione. Il presente studio è stato condotto per stimare la popolazione di nibbi nel distretto di Lahore. Per la stima della popolazione è stato utilizzato il metodo del conteggio dei dormitori. Sono stati visitati quattro siti e ne è stata stimata la popolazione; è emerso che in media erano presenti 356 nibbi in ogni dormitorio.
