Sociologia cultural: teoria, performance, política é o primeiro livro em português inteiramente dedicado a Jeffrey C. Alexander. Reunimos aqui uma amostra significativa da obra do autor. Para tanto, procuramos contemplar os trabalhos de natureza tanto teórica quanto empírica, alguns mais analítico-compreensivos e outros mais crítico-normativos. Os textos selecionados representam também um recorte temporal que vai de meados da década de 1980 até o ano de 2019.Deste modo, buscamos dar uma importante contribuição para os estudos universitários nas distintas áreas científicas, desde a filosofia, a sociologia e a antropologia até as ciências políticas e a comunicação.
