Cette étude cherche à établir la socialisation des mères adolescentes dans les écoles secondaires. Les mécanismes scolaires sont des facteurs dans l’école qui aident les mères adolescentes à s’intégrer et à faire face à leur scolarité lorsqu’elles retournent à l’école. En revanche, la socialisation des mères adolescentes fait référence à tous les efforts en termes d’attention, de soutien, de conseil, d’encouragement, d’orientation et de conseil, de mentorat, de modélisation déployés pour les mères adolescentes, entre autres, dans les écoles, afin de les aider à s’adapter et à bien fonctionner à l’école. L’objectif de l’étude était d’évaluer les mécanismes scolaires utilisés pour socialiser les mères adolescentes dans les écoles secondaires. L’étude était basée sur la théorie libérale féministe et a adopté un modèle descriptif. L’étude a été menée dans 10 des 34 (29,4 %) écoles secondaires du sous-comté de Trans-Nzoia West. La population étudiée était composée de 26 mères adolescentes, 10 directeurs d’école, 10 maîtres d’orientation et de conseil, et 20 professeurs de classe de mères adolescentes dans les écoles secondaires. Le sous-comté, les écoles et les personnes interrogées ont été sélectionnés à l’aide de techniques d’échantillonnage raisonné et d’échantillonnage en boule de neige. Les données ont été recueillies à l’aide de questionnaires, de discussions de groupe, d’entretiens et d’analyses de documents.
