Um novo ligando de base de Schiff (HL) derivado da condensação de quinolina-2-carboxaldeído com 2-aminofenol e os seus complexos de ligandos mistos de Cr(III), Mn(II), Fe(III), Co(II), Ni(II), Cu(II), Zn(II) e Cd(II) vis 2,2’-bipiridina/1, 10-fenantrolina como ligando secundário foram sintetizados e caracterizados por análises elementares, estudos espectroscópicos (IR, espectros de massa, 1H NMR, UV-vis, suscetibilidade magnética e reflectância sólida), condutância molar, difração de raios X, ESR e estudos térmicos. Os parâmetros cinéticos e termodinâmicos foram calculados utilizando os métodos de Coats-Redfern e Horowitz-Metzger. Além disso, o ligando de base de Schiff e os seus complexos de ligandos mistos foram analisados contra bactérias Gram positivas (Streptococcus pneumoniae e Bacillis subtilis) e Gram negativas (Pseudomonas aeruginosa e Escherichia coli). A atividade antifúngica foi levada a cabo contra (Aspergillus fumigatus e Candida albicans). Além disso, a atividade anticancerígena do ligando de base de Schiff e dos seus complexos de ligandos mistos foi também testada contra a linha celular de cancro da mama (MCF-7) e a linha celular de cancro do cólon (HCT-116).
