Este estudo explorou a biossíntese de nanopartículas de prata utilizando Nostoc muscorum e Microchaete sp. Entre as 30 estirpes de cianobactérias analisadas, estas duas foram selecionadas para um estudo mais aprofundado com base na sua capacidade de produzir nanopartículas mais pequenas em menos tempo. Os estudos de otimização revelaram que as melhores condições de síntese incluíam 2 ml de extrato (2mg/ml) e 1 ml de AgNO3 (1mM), com um pico de absorção UV-VIS a 440 nm. O pH ótimo para a síntese foi de 5,5, com uma agregação mínima. As melhores temperaturas foram 60°C para Nostoc e 50°C para Microchaete. O tempo de exposição UV influenciou a síntese, com pico de absorção a 60 minutos (430 nm). A caraterização utilizando SEM, TEM, AFM, XRD e FTIR confirmou a forma esférica, a cristalinidade e a estabilização das nanopartículas com base em proteínas. As partículas mediam 30 nm em Nostoc e 7 nm em Microchaete. A atividade antibacteriana foi mais elevada contra Staphylococcus aureus, enquanto os ensaios antioxidantes demonstraram uma forte atividade. Este método amigo do ambiente apresenta uma alternativa escalável à síntese química para aplicações biomédicas e tecnológicas.
