O principal objetivo do presente trabalho é a descrição do desenho, síntese e caracterização de pirazolinas de colesterol, juntamente com os seus estudos antitumorais contra linhas celulares tumorais humanas. A identidade dos compostos recém-sintetizados foi confirmada por IR, 1H NMR, 13C NMR, espectrometria de massa e análise elementar. O primeiro capítulo contém uma introdução sobre a importância do cancro, as aplicações dos esteróides como agentes antitumorais e a utilidade biológica dos derivados de pirazolina. O segundo e terceiro capítulos tratam da síntese, caracterização e aspectos estereoquímicos das pirazolinas esteróides, enquanto o quarto capítulo incorpora a avaliação antitumoral dos compostos recém-sintetizados.
