Em 2011, para a área experimental e de demonstração do Departamento de Cultivo e Propagação de Plantas Hortícolas da Faculdade de Horticultura da Universidade Mendel em Brno, na quinta escolar em Žabčice, avaliaram-se as propriedades de crescimento e colheita de genótipos resistentes de variedades de maçãs e tipo de crescimento colunar. Ao mesmo tempo, também se concentrou a atenção na resistência contra doenças fúngicas, tais como a sarna da macieira (Venturia inaequalis (Cke.) Wint.) e o oídio (Podospharea leucotricha Ell.et Werk, Salm). As plantações experimentais observadas neste trabalho foram estabelecidas em 2000 e 2009. A sarna da macieira (Venturia inaequalis (Cke.) Wint.) apareceu apenas muito fracamente na cultivar ’Polka’. Não foi encontrado o oídio (Podosharea leucotricha Ell. et Werk, Salm). As características de crescimento foram avaliadas pelo número de flores, frutos e botões na distância dos rebentos superiores. Os frutos colhidos foram avaliados organolepticamente duas vezes.
