Die Paradigmen der Servicequalität wurden in vielen Studien zum Dienstleistungsmarketing untersucht, und bis heute haben sich die Forscher bei der Erforschung der Wahrnehmung der Servicequalität durch die Verbraucher auf die Perspektive der Verbraucher beschränkt, ohne die Meinung der Dienstleister einzuholen. Dieses Buch konzentriert sich auf die Erwartungen und Wahrnehmungen der Verbraucher in Bezug auf die Servicequalität der Gesundheitsdienstleister des Nationalen Krankenversicherungssystems (National Health Insurance Scheme, NHS). Ziel war es, die Servicelücken zwischen den Erwartungen und Wahrnehmungen der Verbraucher mithilfe des modifizierten SERVQUAL-Modells zu ermitteln, das auf 22 Aussagen in fünf Dimensionen basiert, und die Wahrnehmungen der Gesundheitsdienstleister in Bezug auf die Erwartungen der Verbraucher an die Erbringung von Gesundheitsdienstleistungen zu bewerten.
