Ce programme répondait à la nécessité pour le pays d’internationaliser l’enseignement supérieur, en vue de réduire l’écart entre le Brésil et les économies à revenu élevé. En se concentrant sur les diplômés des universités australiennes, le premier chapitre montre l’importance du programme dans le processus d’internationalisation des universités brésiliennes. Les deuxième et troisième chapitres analysent les performances du programme. Onze experts australiens et latino-américains ayant des expériences professionnelles différentes ont été interrogés sur le processus d’internationalisation de l’enseignement supérieur. Les rapports d’activité finaux de 2 747 diplômés ont également été analysés. Les résultats montrent que le programme a projeté la science et l’éducation brésiliennes au niveau international et a permis d’importants changements dans la vie personnelle et universitaire des étudiants, qui ont acquis de nouvelles compétences et sont restés en contact avec des réseaux de recherche et de connaissances.
