Program był częścią potrzeby umiędzynarodowienia szkolnictwa wyższego w kraju, w celu zmniejszenia przepaści między Brazylią a gospodarkami o wysokich dochodach. Skupiając się na absolwentach australijskich uniwersytetów, pierwszy rozdział pokazuje znaczenie programu w procesie internacjonalizacji brazylijskich uniwersytetów. Rozdziały drugi i trzeci analizują wyniki programu. Przeprowadzono wywiady z jedenastoma australijskimi i latynoamerykańskimi ekspertami o różnym doświadczeniu zawodowym na temat procesu internacjonalizacji szkolnictwa wyższego. Przeanalizowano również końcowe raporty z działalności 2 747 absolwentów. Wyniki pokazały, że program przyczynił się do rozwoju brazylijskiej nauki i edukacji na arenie międzynarodowej oraz umożliwił istotne zmiany w życiu osobistym i akademickim studentów, którzy rozwinęli nowe umiejętności i utrzymywali kontakt z sieciami badawczymi i sieciami wiedzy.
