Lo scopo principale dello studio era quello di determinare l’esposizione degli agricoltori alla radio e alla televisione e di stabilire l’efficacia della radio e della televisione nella diffusione delle informazioni agricole, così come percepite dagli agricoltori. I dati sono stati raccolti da 100 radioascoltatori e 100 telespettatori selezionati a caso attraverso interviste personali tra novembre 2007 e giugno 2008. Nel caso della radio, tra i diciassette programmi agricoli nazionali e regionali trasmessi dalle radio selezionate, gli agricoltori sono stati più o meno esposti solo a otto programmi. Tra gli otto programmi, shamol Sylhet (regionale) era al primo posto, seguito da desh- amar- mati- amar (programma nazionale), ajker chasabad (programma regionale) e così via. In generale, la maggior parte degli intervistati (85%) ha avuto un’esposizione medio-bassa ai programmi agricoli trasmessi dalla radio. Tra tutti i programmi agricoli trasmessi via radio, gli agricoltori preferiscono conoscere le informazioni relative al valore di mercato dei prodotti agricoli, seguite da domande e risposte e così via. Per quanto riguarda la televisione, tra i cinque programmi televisivi agricoli selezionati sono stati trasmessi da cinque canali satellitari (BTV World, Channel-I, Banglavision, Rtv e ATN Bangla).
