W niniejszym opracowaniu zamierzamy zbadać model rozwoju i międzynarodowej pozycji gospodarki brazylijskiej oparty na ekspansji eksportu zasobów naturalnych. Celem jest ocena wpływu ostatniego cyklu wzrostu cen surowców w Brazylii na wzrost eksportu oraz stopnia, w jakim towarzyszyła mu aprecjacja waluty i utrata konkurencyjności oraz zdolności eksportowej w innych sektorach, w których Brazylia umacniała swoją pozycję. Przeprowadzono analizę Shift-Share dotyczącą eksportu brazylijskiego w latach 2000-2012 w celu zidentyfikowania zmiennych, które przyczyniły się do wzrostu międzynarodowego handlu tego kraju, oraz ich implikacji dla przyszłości.
