The goal of Artificial Tntelligence (AT) researchers is to program computers to mimic human intelligence in areas like speech recognition, language comprehension and decision making. Among the many branches of AT are Machine Learning (ML), Natural Language Processing (NLP), Robotics and Computer Vision. Algorithms that can 'learn' from data and 'improve' their performance over time are the focus of ML, a branch of AT. Deep Learning (DL) is one such method for accomplishing this goal by teaching computer networks to spot patterns in data. NLP is an AT discipline concerned with teaching machines to comprehend written and spoken language. The healthcare, financial, manufacturing and transportation sectors are just some of the many that can benefit from AT. Medical data analysis and treatment planning are only two examples of how AT is being put to use in the healthcare industry. Fraud detection and risk analysis are two financial applications of AT. AT is being applied to supply chain management and quality control in the industrial sector. AT is being employed for autonomous vehicles and traffic control in the transportation sector.
