RHAPSODY: n,(mus) an instrumental composition irregular in form and suggestive of improvisation. This is a coming of age story set on the shores of Lake Macquarie in NSW Australia of only child and violinist, Ashlyn Mercy. Ashlyn is content living a single life and cocoons herself by her group of Year 10 schoolmates, including her best friends Michael and Bree. And then the ethereally named Standish twins move to Sommersett. The local girls know these twins are something special. Tall, handsome, smart and athletic - these confident twins turn heads, including their own, which are both directed toward Ashlyn. Ashlyn struggles with her shy side when Elijah asks her out and all the ideals she holds in such high regard take second place over time, most especially her purity of mind. Elijah arouses Ashlyn, taking small increasing steps until she thinks she is ready to take the final jump into the world of adult love.
