Este livro tem como objetivo explorar a relação entre três elementos do ambiente físico do restaurante (ou seja, condições ambientais, decoração e artefactos, e layout espacial), resposta emocional, experiência hedónica e intenções comportamentais de consumo. Os resultados revelam que os três fatores do ambiente físico influenciaram fortemente a resposta emocional, a experiência hedónica e as intenções comportamentais de consumo dos clientes. Simultaneamente, tanto a resposta emocional como a experiência hedónica também afetaram positivamente as intenções comportamentais de consumo. A experiência hedónica foi o preditor mais significativo que afetou as intenções comportamentais de consumo. Este estudo enfatiza a importância de os gestores de restaurantes considerarem a importância da construção do ambiente físico do design, que contribui positivamente para a resposta emocional dos clientes, a experiência hedónica e as intenções comportamentais de consumo dos ambientes de serviço. Esta pesquisa representa uma tentativa de desenvolver um modelo mais abrangente que explique como o ambiente físico afeta a resposta emocional, a experiência hedónica e as intenções comportamentais de consumo dos clientes.
