Dalla critica, a tempo e spazio assoluti, di Einstein si sono sviluppati i concetti di tempo e di spazio relativi. Le conseguenze succedute a questi nuovi concetti sono rivoluzionarie sia dal punto di vista filosofico che dal punto di vista fisico. La misura di una lunghezza in moto appare contratta rispetto alla misura eseguita in quiete; la misura del tempo eseguita su orologi in moto appare dilatata. Questa nuova filosofia ha creato nell'uomo la convinzione della possibile realizzazione di eventi considerati fantastici. Si pensi al paradosso dei gemelli. Dal punto di vista matematico tutto ciò è sostenuto dalle trasformate di Lorentz che sostituiscono quelle classiche di Galilei. In questo lavoro, dopo aver dedotto, in modo semplice ed originale, le trasformate di Lorentz, si eseguono approfondite analisi di alcune esperienze ideali mettendo in risalto le incongruenze logiche a cui conducono i risultati ottenuti dalla applicazione delle sopra dette trasformate.
