Le présent travail tente de comprendre les complexités d’une relation communautaire dans une zone en proie à un conflit armé. Il a été réalisé dans l’État du Jammu-et-Cachemire, en particulier dans le district de Rajouri, qui est une zone de contrôle avec le Cachemire occupé par le Pakistan. L’étude examine l’impact sociopolitique du conflit armé ainsi que l’impact des stratégies anti-insurrectionnelles de l’État sur la vie quotidienne. Elle examine également les relations inter et intracommunautaires dans une zone de conflit. Le présent travail a tenté d’explorer la complexité de la vie des populations dans une zone de conflit et la manière dont les relations fondées sur cette complexité peuvent être comprises à la lumière des divisions religieuses. Il a également examiné le rôle de l’État et d’autres organisations dans les relations communautaires de ces régions et la manière dont ils ont réagi pour faire face à cette complexité.
