This book has been organised with the aim of disseminating the data relating to a Master’s research project, the object of which is the school habitus of primary school pupils. The research is part of discussions on the process of schooling, in the relationship that is established between the school habitus, the practices of teachers and the students’ families. The study is based on the concept of habitus from Pierre Bourdieu’s theory. The question is: what is the contribution of out-of-school tasks mediated by the family and the school in the constitution of the school habitus of primary school children and its consequences for the pupils’ schooling process? Thus, this research offers contributions to expanding knowledge about the characteristics of the school habitus of primary school students; whether this habitus is related to success in school performance and to what extent the family and the teacher contribute to the realisation of this habitus and its contributions to the success of the students’ schooling. It is hoped that the results will contribute to future reflections on improving the schooling process through the school habitus.
