Reedyford: Or Creed And Character is a novel written by Silas Kitto Hocking and published in 1880. The story is set in the fictional town of Reedyford and revolves around the lives of its inhabitants. The main character is a young man named John Tregerthen, who is the son of a wealthy businessman. John is a devout Christian and is determined to live his life according to his faith. He is also deeply in love with a young woman named Mary Trenoweth, who shares his religious beliefs. However, John’s faith is put to the test when he is accused of a crime he did not commit. He is forced to stand trial and faces the possibility of being sent to prison. Despite the overwhelming evidence against him, John remains steadfast in his belief in God and refuses to compromise his principles. With the help of his friends and family, John is eventually exonerated and is able to resume his life with Mary.Reedyford: Or Creed And Character is a story about faith, love, and the importance of standing up for what you believe in. It is also a commentary on the social and political issues of the time, including the role of religion in society and the justice system.
