Selon l’ANVISA RDC 306/04 et la résolution CONAMA 358/2005, tous les services liés aux soins de santé humaine ou animale, y compris les services de soins à domicile et le travail sur le terrain, sont définis comme générant des déchets de services de santé (DSS). L’étude analyse la gestion des déchets dans une institution philanthropique située dans la ville d’Adamantina - SP, qui a une capacité d’hospitalisation de 120 lits. L’objectif de la recherche était de quantifier et de classer les déchets générés dans l’établissement de santé. La méthodologie est basée sur une analyse quantitative, avec la collaboration du service d’hygiène et d’esthétique (SHE) de l’établissement. Les déchets ont pu être quantifiés en litres par jour et classés conformément à l’annexe I de la résolution ANVISA RDC 306/2004 et à l’annexe I de la résolution CONAMA 358/2005, et les auteurs ont observé des irrégularités dans la gestion (ségrégation et conditionnement, collecte et transport interne, stockage et collecte externe) des déchets par les professionnels.
