The concept of quality in education is dynamic and has multiple meanings; it depends on space and time. According to Morão and Zotes (2008), quality teaching requires resources and has the following characteristics: teachers who are qualified intellectually and emotionally, with good communication skills and ethics; teachers who are well paid, motivated, and have acceptable working conditions; healthy interactions between teachers and students that allow for effective monitoring of the student; adequate and modern infrastructure, among others. The massification of education has brought with it a diversification of student profiles, presenting schools with new challenges. Given this scenario and the emergence of globalization, teacher training is an efficient and effective response to the needs of society. When Cape Verde gained independence, it realized the need to invest in human resources training. To this end, it sought to adapt its education system to the context and modernize it, which it did thanks to project funding from international partners. Students were surveyed to gauge their perception of the quality of the training they received.
