This is one of a series of study books on Genesis. I like to think of my books as an aid in putting a jigsaw puzzle together. Do you remember how frustrating it is when you’re trying to make 'that one piece' of your puzzle fit? It looks like it should fit, you know it should fit, but you just can’t make the connection. Then, after digging deeper inside the box, just before you put the puzzle away because you think it’s defective, you find a piece that causes the one you were working with days earlier to fall into place. Your enthusiasm is restored, you start seeing connections to more of the puzzle and you’re hooked again. I’ve heard a lot of people say the Bible is full of contradictions because they can’t make the connection with the pieces. Questions such as: Where do cavemen and dinosaurs fit? Was there something on earth before the creation of Adam and Eve in the Garden of Eden? What does the Old Testament have to do with Jesus? Who wrote the book of Genesis? These questions are often pushed back until the Bible seems to be defective, put back on the shelf, and ignored. As any jigsaw puzzle enthusiast knows, if you don’t use all the pieces in the box you get an incomplete picture. It’s my hope this book will help you put those seemingly unrelated pieces of the Bible together to give you a comprehensible picture of God’s Word.

The Gospel of John was long assumed to be the work of an eyewitness, usually identified as John, son of Zebedee. More recently, many have judged it the unhistorical product of a ''Johannine community.'' Reconsideration by Richard Bauckham has suggested that the author was a Jerusalem disciple who housed the ''Last Supper.'' This book explores the possibility that he was present...

del mayor guitarrista de la historia del tango. Pero si decimos “bastaría”, en potencial, es que nos debemos mucho más: suele decirse del gran Aníbal Troilo que su música y sus orquestas son la gran marca de ...

  • Through the years with prince charming
    Paul du Quenoy
The past decade has overflowed in a raging stream of contradictions. Old certainties have yielded to relentless insecurity over a time when much of the human experience got immeasurably better even as many things only ever seemed to get worse. As Paul du Quenoy’s globetrotting criticism reveals, the arts were in a ferment that matched profound and yet totally unpredicted social...

In 1759, the court of the Italian Duchy of Parma adopted the inspiration of cultural creators who recommended a reform of Italian opera along French lines. These writers favored combining Italian-style music with the wider range of musical genres and scenic variety of French opera. As the music critic and commentator George W. Loomis shows in this groundbreaking volume, the you...
