Territory is an uninterrupted space, encompassing cities and the countryside. It is environment, economy, community, culture and institutions. The Guaporé Valley has floodplain and tropical forests, colossal trees and almost impenetrable igapó forests. The main river is the Guaporé. Along its course, it winds through forests and plains. The forest is a spectrum, and poets know this. The plain is the emotion that ennobles us. The emblematic aspiration of these landscapes emerges in the production of fantasy, where vastness transports us to abstraction. Traditional peoples, women of the waters and forests, indigenous peoples, quilombolas and riverine communities have a cultural heritage conceived through expressions and techniques, together with the artefacts and cultural places associated with them. They live from and in the forests and riverbanks, inventing their way of life, experiencing technologies of otherness and intertwining. Cultures mix, overlap, are reborn and constantly reinvigorate the experience between the world of water and the world of forests. Heritage is recreated based on its interaction with nature and its history. It generates identity and continuity. It promotes cultural diversity and human creativity.
