O presente trabalho centra o seu desenvolvimento na investigação das características e estratégias destinadas a resolver o problema da compreensão da leitura em alunos do ciclo de orientação do Ensino Superior. Isto implica uma análise de cada um dos aspectos didácticos e pedagógicos prioritários para definir os problemas de compreensão leitora dos alunos e para rever as actividades programadas pelo curso na sua planificação. De acordo com vários estudos e com os próprios, analisa-se como os alunos do primeiro e do segundo ano têm pouca capacidade para resolver os temas e as propostas de aprendizagem e, consequentemente, não conseguem compreender claramente as instruções dadas no curso, cuja importância é extremamente importante para que o aluno alcance e incorpore os conteúdos da disciplina. A compreensão da leitura é um processo interativo que se desenvolve em quatro níveis diferentes: literal, inferencial, crítico e criativo. Portanto, a questão que se coloca é: como posso ler de forma 100% eficaz, como posso desenvolver a capacidade de compreensão de um texto, como posso incorporar os conteúdos da disciplina de Economia de forma eficiente?
