Il benessere materno e infantile è un elemento essenziale della vita sulla terra, perché madri e bambini sono molto importanti per la procreazione degli esseri umani. Tuttavia, la situazione di madri e bambini è molto critica nei Paesi sottosviluppati come il Camerun, dove, secondo l’EDS-MICS, ogni anno muoiono più di 6.000 donne e bambini di età inferiore ai 05 anni a causa di una serie di problemi che avrebbero potuto essere evitati. Uno di questi problemi è la mancanza di strutture mediche specializzate nella salute materno-infantile in diverse regioni, come il Camerun occidentale, dove la popolazione di Bafoussam e dintorni soffre davvero di questa piaga sociale. Per contribuire a costruire un’assistenza sanitaria per tutti in Camerun, abbiamo proposto la progettazione di un ospedale ginecologico-ostetrico e pediatrico nella città di Bafoussam a Kouékong. La chiave per risolvere questo problema era rispondere alla domanda principale: come potevamo progettare un ospedale che risolvesse i problemi di salute delle donne e dei bambini sotto i 05 anni della regione?
