O reconhecimento e a identificação de riscos e perigos no local de trabalho e no ambiente de trabalho são feitos com base em dados recolhidos a partir de documentos disponíveis para o empregador, observação e monitorização do processo no local de trabalho, recolha das informações necessárias e informações do pessoal e outras fontes. Por parte dos funcionários, é realizado um inquérito no qual lhes é solicitado que descrevam as suas atividades diárias e indiquem os perigos e riscos que observaram na execução das suas atividades. De acordo com as disposições da legislação local harmonizada, a diretiva-quadro europeia para a saúde e segurança e a boa prática comum 89/391, é realizada uma avaliação de riscos para todas as atividades de construção que serão realizadas no local durante o PROJETO. A Avaliação de Riscos é um processo estruturado para identificar e avaliar riscos, definir medidas ou disposições de segurança, a fim de eliminar/isolar ou reduzir os riscos, na medida do razoavelmente possível, e controlar os riscos residuais. Este procedimento define os requisitos para a avaliação de riscos, a metodologia de classificação e a apresentação deste exercício.
