A oliveira possui uma rusticidade e uma plasticidade notáveis, que lhe permitem produzir em condições difíceis (adaptação a uma grande variedade de solos e irrigação insuficiente), mas a sua produtividade continua a ser limitada por um certo número de factores bióticos e abióticos. Com o regresso da primavera, as doenças e as pragas voltam a estar no centro das atenções.O nosso trabalho foi realizado num olival na zona de Bennacer Ben Chohra para avaliar o estado de saúde deste pomar e determinar as restrições bióticas e abióticas que influenciam o seu desenvolvimento. A taxa de sucesso da plantação é de 99,02%.Foram identificadas várias pragas: o Otiorhynchus cibricollis (86,27%), o psilídeo Euphyllura olivina (82,35%), a traça da azeitona Prays olae (80,39%) e o tripes da azeitona Liothrips oleae (9,80%).O stress hídrico e as deficiências em elementos essenciais foram também observados, com taxas de 91,18% e 52,94% simultaneamente.A falta de manutenção do pomar e a ausência de rega controlada estão entre as causas mais suspeitas que impedem o bom desenvolvimento do nosso pomar.
