Este trabalho faz parte de um estudo mais alargado destinado a melhorar o conhecimento da ecologia de Prioria oxyphylla, uma espécie tropical de elevado valor comercial e cultural. O objetivo era recolher informações fiáveis sobre a estrutura espacial e a regeneração natural de Prioria oxyphylla na região de Kisangani (florestas de Yangambi e Uma). A metodologia utilizada foi um inventário sistemático único numa área de 10ha em cada sítio, e todas as plantas da espécie em causa com Dhp ≥ 10 cm foram localizadas em relação aos eixos X e Y.Em termos de resultados, foram inventariados 4.401 indivíduos arbóreos em Uma, ou seja, uma média de 440,1 indivíduos por hectare, e 3.799 indivíduos arbóreos em Yangambi, ou seja, uma média de 379,9 indivíduos por hectare, seguindo-se uma densidade média de 2,5 e 2 pés de Prioria oxyphylla em Uma e Yangambi, que apresentam duas estruturas espaciais respetivamente: agregada e aleatória.Os regenerados estão presentes em todas as fases de crescimento, com uma diminuição do número de indivíduos da primeira classe de altura (S1) para a segunda e terceira classes.
