In der vorliegenden Studie wurde das antivirale Potenzial von Premna latifolia Roxb. gegen das Newcastle Disease Virus (NDV) untersucht. Es wurde festgestellt, dass P. latifolia das Wachstum von NDV hemmt, was auf die Bestandteile des Pflanzenextrakts zurückzuführen sein könnte, die die Replikation der Viren in der Allantoishöhle stören. Die Bewertung der antiviralen Aktivität von nicht toxischem P. latifolia gegen NDV-induzierte embryonierte Eier führte zur Identifizierung der Art als Quelle für potenzielle antivirale pflanzliche Arzneimittel.
