O principal objetivo do livro é analisar as práticas ecológicas relacionadas com as áreas da conservação de energia, reciclagem de resíduos e segregação de resíduos, implementadas pelas transportadoras de baixo custo selecionadas, bem como os desafios enfrentados e as oportunidades de progresso na sua adoção. Também analisou a relação entre o perfil demográfico dos participantes e o grau de implementação de práticas ecológicas. A primeira fase do livro identifica as variáveis incluídas no estudo. A segunda fase consiste na recolha de dados junto dos participantes através de um inquérito. Foi pedido a 338 participantes que respondessem ao inquérito. A terceira fase é a análise dos dados para determinar as práticas ecológicas implementadas pelos CCL selecionados e o seu grau de implementação, bem como os desafios que enfrentaram e as oportunidades que lhes estão reservadas na sua tentativa de se tornarem ecológicos. Este livro ajudará os futuros investigadores a avançar na sua análise das práticas de gestão ambiental a bordo e durante os voos, incluindo uma disciplina mais científica.
