This book tells the true story of a one-month-old bull stranded during the Louisiana flood of 2016. A boy and his father found the calf and took him to an animal shelter where the boy formed an attachment to the recovering baby bull, whom he named Poncho. After two months of treatment at the LSU Veterinary Teaching Hospital, Poncho was healed. The original owner could not be located, so the boy's family adopted Poncho and brought him to their home in a rural community to live with their other farm animals, Through Poncho's story, readers can appreciate the humane care of animals.
