Das Thema dieses Buches ist die Lesekompetenz von Gedichten. Die Probleme, die die Forschung und das Schreiben dieses Buches motiviert haben, waren: die Erkenntnis, dass es für viele Lehrer eine Herausforderung ist, didaktische Praktiken zu entwickeln, in denen die Lesefähigkeiten der Gattung Gedicht berücksichtigt werden; die Beobachtung, dass Schüler kein Interesse am Lesen von Gedichten zeigen, trotz des Wertes dieser diskursiven Gattung für das Lesetraining; Zweifel daran, wie man Schüler auf externe Bewertungen wie Prova Brasil, ENEM und SARESP vorbereitet. Das allgemeine Ziel dieser Untersuchung ist es, einen Beitrag für andere Pädagogen zu leisten, die diese Arbeit der didaktischen Umsetzung von Aktivitäten kennenlernen, die sich auf die Fähigkeiten zum Lesen von Gedichten und die Reflexion der Ergebnisse im Klassenzimmer, in dem sie entwickelt wurde, konzentrieren. Die theoretische Grundlage dieser Forschung basiert auf der soziokognitiven Perspektive des Lesens, auf der Bachtinschen Konzeption von Sprache und diskursiven Gattungen und auf den konstitutiven Aspekten der diskursiven Gattung Gedicht.
