Studienarbeit aus dem Jahr 2002 im Fachbereich Soziologie - Klassiker und Theorierichtungen, Note: 2,0, Johannes Gutenberg-Universität Mainz (Institut für Soziologie), Veranstaltung: Theorien der allgemeinen Soziologie, Sprache: Deutsch, Abstract: Diese Hausarbeit soll Einblick in das Werk von Pierre Bourdieu verschaffen, wobei der Schwerpunkt meiner Ausarbeitung auf den Begriffen des „sozialen Raums' und des „Habitus' liegen wird. Zuerst werde versuchen, die beiden Begriffe unabhängig voneinander zu erläutern um anschließend auf die gegenseitige Bedingtheit dieser einzugehen. Des weiteren werde ich versuchen, den Unterschied zwischen dem sozialen Raum und dem sozialen Feld zu erläutern, um so eventuelle Missverständnisse, die sich bei der Lektüre von Bourdieus Werk ergeben können, aus dem Weg zu räumen. Ein weiteres Anliegen ist, Bourdieus gedankliche Umsetzung des sozialen Raums zu erläutern. Bourdieu tut dies mit den Begriffen des symbolischen Raums (oder dem „Raum der Lebensstile') und dem des „physischen Raums'. So ist die Hausarbeit ein Versuch, Überblick über das Werk Bourdieus zu schaffen um es so auch verständlicher und zugänglicher zu machen.
