Diese Studie widmete sich der Verwendung von Phosphorgips - Abfall aus der Herstellung von Phosphordünger, Kalkproduktionsabfällen und Goldbergbausand - zur Herstellung neuer Baumaterialien. Die Ergebnisse der einachsigen Druckfestigkeitstests erreichten 8,3 MPa am dritten Tag der Aushärtung und 13,5 MPa am 90. Tag 13,5 MPa. Das Material hatte einen Wasserwiderstandskoeffizienten von 0,95 nach 28 Tagen, eine Wasseraufnahme von 8,6 % und Ausdehnungswerte von 1 % am dritten Tag und 1,5 % nach anderthalb Jahren Aushärtung. Die mechanischen Eigenschaften der entwickelten Materialien entsprachen den Anforderungen der NBR 7.170/83 für Vollziegel der Klassen A, B und C sowie für keramische Blöcke der Klassen 15 und 25. Mit Hilfe von XRD, XRF, SEM und EDS wurden die physikalisch-chemischen Prozesse untersucht, die an der Strukturbildung der neuen Materialien beteiligt sind und auf die Umwandlung kristalliner Mineralien und die Synthese amorpher Substanzen zurückzuführen sind, die den in Gips vorhandenen Strukturen ähneln.
