O presente estudo teve como objetivo isolar estirpes eficientes de PGPR da rizosfera do trigo na fase de perfilhamento e antese sob stress de seca. A identificação e a caraterização foram efectuadas através de vários testes bioquímicos. A eficácia das PGPR para melhorar o crescimento e o desenvolvimento das plantas foi estabelecida através de uma experiência de reinoculação. As PGPR isoladas, quando utilizadas como inóculos, mostraram um maior potencial para uma melhor estabilidade das plantas em condições de défice hídrico.
