Novos contextos influenciam os debates e as práticas da arte-educação no Brasil e abrem novos campos de indagação para a crítica decolonial. Ao exigir a consideração do papel das representações artísticas na produção e reprodução da 'diferença colonial', foram iniciados vários estudos que questionam as disciplinas artísticas e o regime do olhar desde os conceitos propostos pela crítica decolonial. Dessa forma, os debates propostos para se repensar a arte/educação na contemporaneidade, entre os quais o pensamento decolonial, estão chamados a reintroduzir e a representar a descontinuidade geográfica e epistemológica acerca da arte e das expressões estéticas. Este trabalho foi produzido a partir destes questionamentos, buscando investigar alternativas em direção à outras narrativas educacionais no contexto da arte-educação no cotidiano escolar.
