FORWARD When I first began writing poetry, I was chattingonline with my girlfriend in Florida. At the time, shewas cleaning and painting her house while her mom was in the hospital. She was so sore with pain that it inspiredme to write a poem to her. Then, the greeting card industry agitated me because Iwas unable to find a greeting card that expressed mysentiments. Soon I began writing poetry for the greetingcards that I sent to family members. A few yearslater, I filed for divorce and decided to put my feelingsdown on paper. It helped me immensely while I wasgoing through such a devastating time in my life. Now I write poetry for the sheer enjoyment of it, and amproud that I have the ability to capture my feelings andsentiments in an artistic form.
