Esta publicação explora as percepções das comunidades locais relativamente ao Projeto Gicumbi Verde, uma iniciativa fundamental na resposta do Ruanda aos desafios das alterações climáticas. O projeto faz parte da estratégia nacional mais ampla do Ruanda para aumentar a resiliência e promover o desenvolvimento sustentável em regiões vulneráveis aos impactos climáticos. Ao centrar-se em medidas de mitigação e adaptação, o Green Gicumbi tem como objetivo melhorar a saúde dos ecossistemas, aumentar a produtividade agrícola e apoiar os meios de subsistência locais. No entanto, o sucesso do projeto depende em grande medida do envolvimento da comunidade e do alinhamento com as prioridades locais. Este estudo investiga a forma como os residentes percepcionam a relevância, a eficácia e o impacto do projeto na sua vida quotidiana.
