Cet ouvrage analyse la ville contemporaine (Secteur Sud, Uberlândia-MG), à travers les particularités des villes moyennes, sa dispersion urbaine et la recherche de lignes directrices urbaines pour améliorer la qualité de vie de la population. La structure du texte est divisée en trois chapitres. Dans un premier temps, Penser la ville comprend une analyse historique de l’urbanisation de son territoire et de son évolution politique et économique, permettant de comprendre le processus de ségrégation socio-spatiale des classes de revenus dans l’espace intra-urbain de la ville. Construire la ville identifie la manière dont les agents publics et privés et les mouvements sociaux agissent dans la construction de la ville contemporaine et analyse certains des développements dans la région étudiée. Vivre la ville propose des lignes directrices générales pour l’urbanisation et la conception des villes, afin de susciter une réflexion sur les moyens d’améliorer la qualité de vie de la population et des espaces publics.
