O objetivo da investigação foi desenvolver um sistema de administração transdérmica controlada por difusão de matriz polimérica contendo o fármaco Telmisartan com diferentes proporções de sistema polimérico hidrofílico (HPMC) e lipofílico (EC, Eudragit RS 100) através da técnica de moldagem por solvente em folha de alumínio, utilizando 30% p/v de ftalato de dibutilo do peso polimérico, incorporado como plastificante e 20% p/v, 30% p/v de dimetilsulfóxido (peso polimérico) como potenciador de permeação para a libertação transdérmica do fármaco. No total, foram desenvolvidas nove formulações utilizando o mesmo fármaco e diferentes rácios de polímeros. Todos os adesivos transdérmicos foram avaliados do ponto de vista físico-químico com a espessura, variação de peso, % de absorção de humidade, % de perda de humidade, resistência à dobragem, planicidade, teor de fármaco e % de libertação de fármaco. . O estudo de permeação invitro foi efectuado por células de difusão. A % máxima de libertação de fármaco foi observada até 48 horas com a formulação F8 contendo HPMC: EC: Eudragit RS 100 na proporção de (5:0:1).
