What would you do if you had extra time? If you couldn’t go to work?If you were told you had to stay at home? If kids couldn’t go to school? So much of the world experienced some of these things because of the pandemic. We are all a part of history that future people will learn from.  Have you ever put your dreams on hold? Was it because you became a parent? Or because you needed money and had to work a job (you did or did not love?)Have you ever forgotten how to dream? What does it even mean to be able to dream? What if, you could dream again? What if you had time to change it all? Why this book? I wrote this book for me, because I want to remember this journey. I want to read it when I need reminders and inspiration. I have learned that often times what we do for ourselves, can help someone else if we share our stories.  During the pandemic I finally reached the point in my life where I needed to try something different in hopes of different results. I wanted to know what it feels like to not give up. I wanted to live a different story. I wanted to be able to tell a new truth and believe in what I could not before. This is my story of continued learning, growth- leaning into faith and learning how to trust again. And I would do all of that by embracing all that is good, yes even through the 'bad.' I will change my thoughts in hopes to feel how I wish to feel and then c=take action  All I knew when this pandemic was becoming was that I had just manifested the life I was dreaming of, I wanted to keep that. What did I want my normal to be? How did I want to live? If I were to die tomorrow, how would I have wanted to live today? I’m going to go live that life. Especially now. In this book you will find my story in the form of reflections, poetry, social media posts, 'diary pages' and journal prompts.

    Jennifer Chrystie
‘There’s a touch of both Dickinson and Larkin in Jennifer Chrystie’s mature exhumation of the tales and tropes of family. Figures who could so easily flit like phantoms in her well honed poetry are palpably enjoying an after-life in the poet’s ability to redeem through deep understanding. The collection arcs from, at one extreme, the parsimonies of the household, to the transce...

    Edward V Bonner
The very title of Edward V. Bonner's first volume of poetry, One Kiss (Ingram, 2015), suggests some ways in which the poems inside balance the universal with the particular. Most of the poems examine the themes of beauty and risk, pleasure and danger, in the context of one of three kinds of relationships: to romantic partners, to the spiritual world, and to the world of nature....

In his interpretation of Antigone, Seamus Heaney says, ‘Nobody can be sure they are always right.’ Maureen O’Shaughnessy’s The Truth about A further attends to this idea through various readings of the myth as portrayed by Sophocles, Brecht, Ted Hughes, Anne Carson and, most particularly, Euripides.
