Es ist bekannt, dass der Indolring des Tryptophylrests, der unter den natürlichen α-Aminosäuren die höchste Hydrophobie aufweist, eine hydrophobe Mikroumgebung für die spezifische Bindung von Molekülen, den Elektronentransfer in Stoffwechselwegen, als Cofaktoren in biologischen Systemen sowie in Metalloproteinen usw. bereitstellt. Viele Indolderivate sind als Arzneimittel bekannt, darunter Indomethacin, Ergotamin, Frovatriptan, Ondansetron und viele andere. Andererseits sind verschiedene Palladiumkomplexe als sehr nützliche Katalysatoren bei organischen Synthesen bekannt, die die Bildung von C-C-Bindungen und die Aktivierung von C-X-Bindungen beinhalten. Es wird allgemein angenommen, dass die meisten dieser Reaktionen über Pd-C-Zwischenprodukte ablaufen, und bis heute wurden zahlreiche Pd-C-Komplexe entwickelt, die tiefe Einblicke in die Reaktionsmechanismen nützlicher katalytischer Reaktionen ermöglichen. Vor diesem Hintergrund konzentriert sich diese Arbeit auf die Charakterisierung von Pd(II)-Komplexen mit einer Indolgruppe, insbesondere auf die Bildung der Pd-Indol-Kohlenstoffbindung und die Reaktivitäten der Pd-Indol-Komplexe.
