Logika kosmologiczna definiuje materię jako część wielkiego całości zwanej wszechświatem, złożonego z galaktyk, a w nich z ciał niebieskich i planet, spośród których jedna budzi obecnie największą ciekawość naukowców, ponieważ występuje na niej dynamiczna aktywność biologiczna w całej swojej różnorodności - jest to planeta „Ziemia'. Rzeczywiście, Ziemia jest jedyną planetą, na której występuje aktywność biologiczna nie tylko zróżnicowana, ale także - a przede wszystkim - wyrafinowana, złożona i dopracowana; dotyczy to w szczególności „człowieka', najbardziej złożonej i dopracowanej istoty we wszechświecie; człowiek sam w sobie stanowi cały mały wszechświat zarówno na płaszczyźnie fizycznej, jak i psychologicznej; jest to dualizm ciała i umysłu; stąd tematyka oparta na trzech fundamentalnych pytaniach dotyczących ludzkiej egzystencji, a mianowicie: kim, dlaczego i jak jest człowiek. To właśnie podsumowując tę tematykę wiedzy o człowieku, tym małym wszechświecie, przenosimy się do wielowymiarowego wszechświata kosmologicznego. Metoda polega zatem na umiejscowieniu człowieka w jego najbliższym i dalszym otoczeniu, które można zaobserwować za pomocą percepcji.
