Irvingia wombolu to gatunek z rodziny Irvingiaceae. Jest to gatunek dostarczający produkty leśne inne niż drewno (PFNL) o dużym potencjale społeczno-gospodarczym i leczniczym. Z tego powodu Irvingia wombolu cieszy się dużym uznaniem wśród lokalnej ludności, która wykorzystuje ją jako źródło środków leczniczych i suplementów diety. Biorąc pod uwagę rosnące tempo wzrostu demograficznego oraz coraz większe wykorzystanie tego gatunku przez społeczność, ważne jest dalsze rozmnażanie tego gatunku w celu zapewnienia jego trwałości. Zastosowana technika rozmnażania przez sadzonki posłuży do uzyskania stabilnego materiału genetycznego.
